Talk: Building Your First Django App
In this workshop we’ll walk you through a step by step tutorial on how to create an app called Tresuregram – think Instagram but for treasure hunters.
If you’ve taken any courses with Code School, you know they teach you everything you need to know to get started with a new topic in a fun and whimsical way. They also split up the instructional videos with interactive challenges. We’re going to bring that style to this workshop by teaching the course live and allowing you to follow along and take the course challenges along the way. We’ll start by covering the bedrock of Django – Models, Templates and Views. Then we’ll dive deeper into template inheritance, forms, and image uploads. If we have time we’ll finish the course user authentication and ajax, otherwise we’ll show you where you can finish the course at codeschool.com
